About Me

I am a Dubai-born Educational, Child & Adolescent Psychologist, trained and registered in the United Kingdom and licensed within Dubai Healthcare City. I completed my professional doctorate at the UCL Institute of Education in London, UK and have been working within the domains of Psychology and Special Education in London and Dubai for over nine years. In addition, I am a visiting lecturer at a Dubai-based international university and also present at various international and national psychology and education conferences.

At The Psychology Center, I work with children, young people and adults across the lifespan in providing in-depth psycho-educational assessment services, which includes standardized testing in an office setting. This includes identification (screening and/or diagnosis) of neurodevelopmental differences such as ADHD, Autism, general or specific learning difficulties (dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc.) or clients with any other behavioural needs.

In addition, I am trained and qualified to administer the gold-standard ADOS-2 assessment for the identification of Autism Spectrum Disorders across the lifespan.

I also work on a consultation-only basis if needed, supporting clients, parents, or families to explore neurodiversity, different diagnoses, and their impact on functioning, and also offering parenting support, in cases when assessment is not an option, or post the assessment process.

I am a bilingual psychologist offering services in both English and Hindi/Urdu.

Assessment Approach

My approach to psycho-educational testing involves an initial information-gathering session wherein any history and records/reports are discussed and any screeners (initial checklists/questionnaires) for neurodevelopmental differences are completed and scored.

This is usually followed by cognitive assessment, testing for academic aptitude, diagnostic interviews and/or the use of other supplemental scales related to wellbeing, executive function, motivation or as applicable.

I prefer to triangulate sources of testing (through parental/educator/informant views) before forming personalized recommendations for every client, and conclude the assessment with a detailed feedback session and report that is useful for the client, their family and educational institution (school/university), if applicable.

I also use a person-centred approach to gain client views during the assessment, as I believe in working with the client to identify both their strengths and needs. I realise that diagnosis of neurodevelopmental differences can be a sensitive topic and approach it with the utmost confidentiality, while understanding it’s impact on their development.
